Bears Win the Day! Most people know by now, but for all those who dont the Dargons flag was forced to flee from the Battlefield this Gathering. The expectations of Mr Arcane was reported to have been that they were going to win, Whoops .. Everyone thinks that though until theyre in the Battle! Old Confusus Say War doesn't determine who is right, war determines who is left. Another Dagger Discovered While hunting down someone I believe to be called the Lord of Summer, we came across some rather annoying Formar hired help. While desposing of these we interuped a Ritual and a Dagger was gained. This looks a lot like the Dagger that was destroyed at the Moots. Further investigation is needed . Chieffy Returns Denzil at the Gathering returned to his position as Chieftain of the Clan McYokel after a wee holiday away from his duties. He takes the position back from Teran "Chuffy" McYokel, but he has stated that if ever he is not around then Chuffy speaks for the Clan. Rumours

Dougi McFinn (the morning after!) This fine old clan celty is one of the finest "single" clansmen in the Bears. He has had many titles, including Matron Mothers Beauty Consultant. He can drink with the best of them and is the clan champion of the McFinns (Alledgely Ed). Mind you ladies he does have his bad qualities aswell, like tondance to loose clothing when drunk (is that a bad thing, oh well, carry on Ed).
History of a Clan I think we will start with one of the oldest clans in the Bears, to whom one of the latest rumours suggests he was sober (That cant be right Ed). Clan McFinn. Fionn MacCumhail knew that his time left in this worlds realm was short. It would soon be time to enter the otherworld and there to sleep until the need for him was greatest. His grandson Oscar had died the year before andhis Fianna were defeated. He knew that after he had gone his decedents would be outcast, for he alone of his line had the powers of the otherworld. His decedents were mortals among whom were some who were gifted but could not replace him. So, two nights before Samhain he called his family and the last of the Fianna together. "Tomorrow when the moon is full we shall gather at the shores, be there, for it is my last wish and my last gift to you." Of all his decedents at that time, Wolfmere, son of Oscar and grandfather of Wolfmere the Great, was chief among them. Knowing that Fionn's time was short he took those of the Clan MacCumhail and the remains of the Fianna who were related to Fionn to the shore of the northern most tip of Erin the following night on the eve os Samhain. Fionn was already waiting there. It was the blackest night that had ever been seen in Erin, the sea was boiling over the rocks of the shoreline, lightning fingered the horizon. Fionn stood with his back to all this. "Brethren", he cried above the wind, "I have called you all here for it is time that you leave this isle. It is my wish that you find lands of your own and keep my name alive. When my work on this night is over I shall depart into the otherworld, but do not fear my cousins, for I shall forever be with you. Cries of "You cannot leave us" arose from the people but Fionn did not heed them. "Follow", he cried, throwing a handful of sand into the sea, "Be at peace for my people go to their own land!" The waves broke either side of him, the sand formed a causeway. Every stride into the sea Fionn threw more sand, extending the causeway. His people were filled with fear that they might drown, but Wolfmere and the last of the Fianna pushed them on. After many miles they came to an island. "This is the land of Islay. This is the land, which belongs to you. Here you will keep my name alive and here you will call for me in your hour of greatest need."
So saying this he drew his sword and broke it over his knee, the raising his face to the sky he cried. "May my people never be driven from this place that I have chosen for them and from this day let them be known by my name." With this he threw the shards of the sword into the sea and turned back down the causeway to Erin. The sea closed behind him and he was never seen by those of his family again. When he was gone Wolfmere called everyone together and finding a nearby cave bade a fire be lit, beasts were slain for food and a great celebration held. "From this day forth we have a new name, from this day we have a new land." And as the sun rose in the east he added, "From this day forth we are Clan McFinn."
The Ritual Crystal & Death Jesters At the gathering 1098 I was performing a ritual to empower a bunch of stormbulls, at the end of the ritual a small crystal apperaed in my hand. During the course of the next two days more crystal shards transported into the ritual circle, usually just after a ritual had taken place. Probably because that was when the barrier between the void and edreja was weakest. Lament had hold of a couple of pieces as well, so we decided to investigate them. The next few months passed quickly as we exchanged information and research with High mages Xixix & Elkentaar of the Tarantulas. At the Unicorns trade fair we merged three pieces of crystal into a larger black one, we later found that there were 18 small pieces in total that would form an artifact when put together. By early 1099 we had almost all the pieces in our hands. With the help of our fellow Bear High mages Azar and Daken we discovered more about the crystals and their nature. At the Heartland games of 1099 Gregor McTaff managed to track down the final piece, using ritual magic he formed them into a larger black and white crystal artifact.
Upon Quick investigation it was discovered to have some boosting effect on ritual magic, but the extent of this effect was unknown at this time. At the first moot during the ritual conducted by Tristram Mcyokel, it was decided to enhance the ritual by using the crystals power. So one of the clansmen channelled his power through the crystal. This had the desired effect of enhancing the ritual, with several small side effects on the contributors. We later discovered that the crystal had channelled chaos power to enhance the ritual and it was this that was causing the side effects. Further (Frantic) Investigation led to the discovery that the crystal came from the world of Rille Tan, a world that was laid waste by chaos powers. The only survivors from this world were a group of eldar known as the Death Jesters. Foul Demons and sorcerors from Rille Tan attempted to enter Edreja using the crystal, we successfully held the crystal keeping it safe until the second moot. At the second moot, we agreed to let Amion-Vek (head of the Death Jesters) borrow the crystal for use in a ritual. During the course of the weekend Chaos sorcerors attacked Amion-Vek, dragging him and the crystal through a transport circle. We are currently constructing a second rootstone made this time of wood, the pieces of which started to appear at the gathering 1099. We have evidence that suggests Amion-Vek is still alive and that this second rootstone may be the key to rescuing him. Signed, Chunder McTaff (and Clan)
